What we do
The Lex and Third Unity Project (L3UP) serves as a vital bridge for The Lex & 3rd Block Association and other small, unregistered community groups dedicated to uplifting their neighborhoods. Recognizing that many impactful initiatives lack the resources or time to establish formal 501(c)(3) status, L3UP acts as a fiscal sponsor and grant director, empowering these groups to focus on their core mission: community impact. We're currently in our startup phase and are scheduled to be officially registered by 2026.
L3BA will be able to receive tax-deductible donations and apply for grants exclusively available to 501(c)(3) organizations, as L3UP will provide its legal and tax-exempt status as an umbrella fiscal sponsor once its registration is complete. This vital support uplifts L3BA, bridging the gap to funding opportunities that would otherwise be inaccessible.
Beyond providing tax-exempt status, L3UP will undertake fiduciary oversight, ensuring responsible fund stewardship, regulatory compliance, and transparent financial reporting. Our purview extends to comprehensive grant direction, from applications to overseeing funded initiatives. This essential support liberates community groups like L3BA from administrative burdens, allowing them to fully dedicate their energy to on-the-ground efforts that directly benefit their neighborhoods.
